MEET ANGELA FOSTER

I’M ANGELA and as a former corporate lawyer, I know exactly what it feels like to work all hours of the day, work multiple time zones, give up your weekends, and basically run on empty. For years I struggled with hormonal issues, including debilitating abdominal cramps and heavy bleeding before being diagnosed with PCOS and Endometriosis.

After having my three kids in my early 30s, I experienced postnatal depression. I was trying to “do it all” and “push through it.” But I was heading straight into a brick wall where burnout and other health problems were inevitable. With worsening hormonal problems, I was absolutely worn out. Everything was accumulating quickly, and it was taking a huge toll on my body.

After carrying on, as many women do, I ended up hospitalized with double pneumonia. I was hooked up to an IV and oxygen, and was fighting for my life — a far cry from being that former successful lawyer I once was. Fortunately for me, I pulled through.

Where previously thoughts of suicide had permeated my mind for so long, I left the hospital ready to embark on a new journey and grateful for a second chance. I had a new purpose. I wanted to see my kids grow up. I wanted to live a life of abundance. And I wanted to share that all with other women — much like yourself.

I set out on a mission to combine optimal health and performance. To understand and solve the unique hormonal and other health issues we face as women. I retrained in functional and integrative nutrition and health coaching, reading countless books and scientific papers to uncover the keys to longevity and good health.

I learned it wasn’t about combining optimal health and performance. Rather, it was about laying the foundations for optimal health, which leads to sustained high performance and longevity. I discovered that this all comes down to each person’s unique genetics, hormones, and body. 

With this in mind, I created the S.H.I.F.T. protocol to help other women achieve a higher sense of self and live their best life. Health and success is never a one-size-fits-all approach. But there is a formula that anyone can use to determine how they can optimise their own health, business, and life.

So many women neglect their sleep. We try to do it all, and when there’s a time crunch, sleep is the first thing to go. Yet, optimising sleep doesn’t mean sleeping longer — like many people may think. There’s so much more to it than that. During this 3-day event, we’re going to dig deeper into how you can improve your sleep and have more energy.

HORMONES

Nailing your sleep goes a long way with managing your hormones. But like many things, there is still more to it than just that. It’s also about understanding and optimising for your menstrual cycle, keeping track of your hunger cues and hormones, and more. When your hormones are balanced, you feel level-headed, have more energy, and generally, feel good.

INSIGHTS

Tracking can help you understand where you are in your menstrual cycle, how you feel after eating certain foods, how your body responds to certain types of exercise, and how other tweaks you make impact you and your health. When you track, you have a clearer idea of where and how you can make changes.

FUEL

Food is key. Yet, it’s all about finding what diet and foods work for you and your body. Your genetics play a big role in this, as does your menstrual cycle. At the same time, fuelling your body goes beyond food. It also involves light, oxygen, and hydration — all of which we will discuss in more detail over this 3-day event.

TRAINING

Most women already know that they need to train their body. Similar to how you take your body to the gym, you also need to train your mind. Life shouldn’t be about pushing all the time.
